Have a nice day...

I think my post today will be kind of like my spin class this morning – I’ll just make it up as I go along (if you would like to play along at home… song of the day is The Rockafeller Skank by Fatboy Slim).

#1: Ankle is healing nicely – thanks everybody for your comments and I’m sorry if the photo grossed you out. I’m not ready for Step or high heels yet; but, I have no problems riding.

#2: Things are progressing nicely at the ol’ WW (weight watchers). I’ve dropped some decent lbs and I’m starting to feel more like myself.

#3: I haven’t gassed up my car since December. Just about the only time I drive instead of bike or walk is to go to Target or the airport. I’m almost to the “E” though.

#4: Actually, I can’t think of anything else interesting today. I’m in a nice spot at the moment. Hope you are too!

Good to hear of the WW success -- even if it's a small step at a time. I'm back on the WW bandwagon also and need to get over my "I don't like to ride when it's cold" attitude and just do it! I have braved the cold wind and walked a lot the last few days, but it's just not as fun as riding!

Good for you Ginger!!

I think of it like this -- if I can ride in this weather freezing my buns off, I can ride in anything! And, I get there faster riding than I do walking, so in a sense, it's the lesser of two demons.

Wow! Great to hear about the E on your tank. I live 27 miles from work with hills so it takes me a lil less than 2 hrs to ride to work at 4:30 in the morning. I try to ride in one day and ride home another day to split the 4 hr commute up a bit. Glad your foot is healing, I would stay away from heels regardless injury or no (boots or sandals for me). Take Care

Whoa Danielle - now that's committment. 4:30 in the morning!!! I hope you live somewhere warm -- oh, and someplace without a lot of critters jumping out at you in the dark.

But, I bet it's peaceful out there on the road that early as the sun rises and before you have to throw yourself into the work day.

Take care too!

Actually Laura it is the most peaceful, relaxing part of my entire week. I live in SoCal so the coldest it gets is in the high 30's low 40's. It is also dark, quiet and there is no one out. I do love it. I am usually a much happier person at work on the days I ride in :p I never thought a 2 hr ride at 4:30 to work could be such a great start to a day. I highly reccomend it!

Danielle, you were actually on my mind this morning as I debated whether to bike in or not this morning. There's still a few patches of ice on the ground; but then I remembered -- my ride's over in 20 minutes, that's not even your warm up. So I stopped whining and started pedaling. :)

Cheers, Laura

WTG Laura!!! Glad to know I could help! I know it takes alot of planning to ride to work, but it is sooo worth it. Keep it up! Looking forward to your next blog. (I am so jealous of your commute 20 minutes- lucky).
