What a Commute?!
This is a blog that I wrote about 1 year ago, and never posted. Due to my recent epic ride, I thought it would be more valuable now than when I wrote it. Check it out:
Yesterday, I took commuting to the next level. I rode my bike 34.4 miles to a neighbor's house, and about 36.2 miles back to my house. The added miles on the way home was due to my unfamiliarity with the area. I took a few unintentional scenic routes and detours. Coincidentally, that 70 miles was the longest I have ridden in one day.
My husband knew when I would be home and was waiting on the front porch with the camera. That picture of me is when I rolled up to the house. I have to say that I was pretty tired. I woke up the next day with very sore legs.
I don't think it is something I would do everyday, but atleast I know I can do it. My heart goes out to everyone out there who commutes on their bike. You guys and gals are my heroes. Keep riding!
</em> My longest trip on bike went from 70 miles to 600. That just shows how much you can grow as a cyclist in just one year.Comments
