THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD

Before you read this I want to let you know that I haven't gone crazy and I'm not medicated in any way, shape or form.  You can accuse me of being a dreamer and maybe a little bit out there but that's it.

With that being said I've applied for a job as the caretaker for the islands of the Great Barrier Reef off the Queensland coastline in Australia.  This is truly the Best Job in the World.  You get to live on an island, explore the Great Barrier Reef, feed the fish and keep a video blog.  I know what your thinking..."Finally a job that has been created with Susan's name all over it!"

Yes its all true.  I applied for the Best Job in the World.  I had to submit a 60 second video explaining why I am the best person for the job. They wanted it to be fun and entertaining while it demonstrated your knowledge of the great barrier reef.  So that's exactly what I did.  I'm sure I'm going to win as I have already packed our bags and am deciding how many bikes to bring.  I'm allowed to dream right?

I find out on March 2nd if I make the next cut to 50.  Currently I am in the running with 36,000 people (that's not a typo).  No biggie...I'm not worried.  The job is mine.

Here's my entry.  PLEASE keep your fingers crossed and send all your good energy my way!  Thanks!

OMG I love it! They would be nuts not to hire you. I am volunteering to go with you of course. Absolutely fabulous.

You Crack me up! I have enjoyed reading your blog this past year. Great stuff. In hopes of being chosen for Trek: Women who ride this year, I created a Trek blog myself and thought you would enjoy reading my latest entry: If nothing else, I look good.

I will steal from your last line, because it fits perfect: PLEASE keep your fingers crossed and send all your good energy my way! Thanks!

Best to you funny gal! Theresa

You are clearly the ONLY CHOICE, but Melissa's says that you can't leave for the job until August 9.
We hope that you continue to keep us laughing!
Best wishes,
Melissa & Tom

Goodness, here I sit at work at 3:15 am and thanks to you I am fully awake and actually cheerful ;P
I am stil laughing (and shaking my head), but mostly laughing. That does sound like a cool job. Something I would have liked to have done when I wasn't a soccer mom with kids and a wonderful husband. Good Luck Susan!!!
